Brackley 1st XV look to get on the winning track away to Stamford College Old Boys on Saturday, whilst the Development team face a tough match against Towcestrians.

After what has been a difficult start to the season for the 1st XV, they will be looking for a much improved performance and a win at Stamford on Saturday. With a number of players unavailable in the cup match against Claverdon last week, the side failed to make a good account of themselves, so the coaching staff will be expecting a big reaction this weekend.

Stamford had an ideal start to their league campaign a fortnight ago, when they defeated Birstall – who had come down into the league – away from home 36-34 in what sounded like a cracking match. After struggling last season, especially in terms of availability, they were delighted with the win. Stamford’s struggles last year were evident in both matches against Brackley, with the game at Nightingale Close won by Brackley 39-3 after being shortened due to injury and the return fixture was an away walkover win.

The Development team will be looking to continue the form they showed away to Northampton Mens Own two weeks ago, when they won 22-7. Playing at home for the first time this season, there is a great mix of young legs and experienced heads in the squad, as they face Towcestrians 3rd XV who will no doubt be one of the toughest challenges for the team this year.

Both games will be kicking off at 3pm and during the Development team game we will be introducing a new drinks offer on Outside Half, which will run throughout the Rugby World Cup, ask at the bar for more details.
