Another week sees another game, we travel over to St Neots this Saturday after a tough battle last weekend against St Ives where we picked up a try bonus point for our 80 minute effort. The game saw a strong and physical St Ives side take control as they took advantage of the lads' make shift defense and exploiting miss-matches to take 5 points at Nightingale Close.

This week sees a new opportunity to travel away for the second time to take on recognisable opposition St Neots, this will be the 14th meeting between the two sides with Brackley seeing the victory on 8 of the last 13 occasions. St Neots have sa=tarted the league unbeaten winning their first 3 games meaning it will be a tough battle but with key players returning for Brackley it is sure to be a feisty affair.

The lads have seen the benefit of a handful of new players coming into the fold this week, increasing the ever so demanding competition for shirts this year. Increasing the player pool will be vital come the colder months as injuries set in and older bodies start to tire. If you are interested in playing rugby whether seniors or Colts (16+) please contact Dickie Clem on dickie.clements@brackleyrufc.com or join us for training every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30PM.

First team captain Christian Mann had this to say

Our start to life in the new league hasn’t been easy but with each new week, we continue to learn and develop. It’s great to see new lads turning out at training which is only adding to the squads depth and direction we want to go in.

Another tough game this week against a high flying St Neots side, but we have had a positive week training and hope to right some wrongs from the last couple of games

As always with a new league the club knew it wouldn't be easy but the lads remain hungry with desire to do well, each session brings record numbers in attendance that wouldn't be seen at Brackley since the days before COVID. The club has given its full backing to the first team with the acquisition of Veo allowing the team to perform analysis after games and training with ability for instant feedback on player performances and seeing clearly the pattern and shape that is trying to be achieved by the coaching staff. Veo also grants its wider use among the club with use over the coming weeks being granted to the junior sections.

The league for every team has been quite wild in a sense where we have seen some tremendous victories for sides but the forecast seems to be that anyone can beat anyone on their day which makes it exciting for every team on every week.

If you fancy coming over to support the lads, kick off is 3PM at St Neots Rugby Club PE19 1RU.
