Brackley will look to return to winning ways on Saturday as they host Sileby Town, whilst the Vets take on Buckingham Vets for the Nigel Fox Memorial Cup.
After suffering a heartbreaking 25-22 loss away to Northampton Mens Own last week, Brackley need to win all of their remaining games and hope other results go their way to have a chance of promotion. That starts with second place Sileby on Saturday who are 9 points ahead and last time out after a couple of late scores beat Brackley 20-5 in December.
The visitors have even bigger prizes in their sights as they sit just 6 points behind Northampton BBOB with a game in hand, so will be wanting to keep their title challenge going. Sileby ended up having a week off last week as Bedford Swifts surprisingly failed to raise a side and gave them a home walkover 5 point win. In their last game, SIleby took on local rivals Aylestone St. James, eventually proving too strong for Jimmies winning 37-19.
Also taking place on Saturday will be the Nigel Fox Memorial Cup match between old rivals Brackley and Buckingham Vets, who will both be looking to show they still have it. An annual event, the Nigel Fox Memorial Cup is played in the memory of the late Nigel Fox who had a long rugby career which included playing prop for Brackley and coaching at Buckingham.
With nice weather forecasted throughout the day and what should be two entertaining games, plus Sileby will be having their bus trip, it is sure to be an amazing atmosphere at the rugby club on Saturday, so come down and cheer both teams on.
