After two weeks off, Brackley return to action this weekend hosting Deepings as the battle for promotion heats up.

Due to the bad weather and a scheduled week off, Brackley will have their first game this month when Deepings visit Nightingale Close. During their time off Brackley have slipped to fourth as fellow promotion chasers Sileby Town and Northampton Mens Own recorded bonus point wins and now only five points separates the three sides.

With the league so tight, Brackley will no doubt be ruing a missed opportunity when they came away with a 13-all draw in their last game away to Bedford Swifts. In the earlier game this season between Brackley and Deepings, the trip up to Lincolnshire saw Brackley have to contend with not only a physical Deepings pack but extremely cold, wet and windy conditions. The visitors reacted well to the harsh conditions though, as they won 20-7 in what was a tight match.

Brackley know that Deepings are a very dangerous side and not ones to be taken lightly, despite having a somewhat inconsistent season, which sees them sitting in 7th place. In their last game, Deepings made the trip to Bedford Swifts where they narrowly lost 22-17, ending the three-game win streak they had been on since the start of 2019.

Kick off for the match is at 14:15 and if it’s anything like last season’s epic come from behind 52-19 win, it’s sure to be a cracker.
