Brackley are at home for the first time in 2019 on Saturday as they host Aylestone St. James in what is a crunch match between promotion rivals.

Results across the league last week showed how tight the race for the top two is this season with six teams in contention. Brackley’s brilliant bonus point win, 22-5 away to Wellingborough O.G’s saw them move up to third, seven points behind Sileby, who gave top of the league BBOB their first defeat of the season last Saturday. Brackley will be looking for more of the same this week in what will be a tough match up and one they know they need to win.

Aylestone currently sit two points below Brackley in fourth and will be looking to bounce back above the hosts after suffering a 42-29 defeat away to Bedford Swifts last weekend. The visitors are a physical side with a strong pack and Brackley will be looking for a similar performance to the one they had at the start of the season in September, when they came away from Aylestone with a 22-5 bonus point win.

With the race for promotion so close, this is a massive game for both sides who will be looking to narrow the gap to the top two. The match kicks off at 2:15pm and the team will want a big crowd for such a big game.
